Right folks sorry for the long delay. I’ll try to finish this series off as quickly. It’s taking far longer than I planned. So on to the series.
Masashi and Midori are walking along, checking out the restaurants. They clearly don’t want to get caught that they are dating. Majime is having a hard time gripping things. Masashi jokes that he’s losing his fingertips. And that he could rob a bank. When he receives a manuscript. Professor Oda, the man who Masashi met. Has sent them the manuscript. Majime thinks that a lot of unnecessary words included. So he edits the script. Majime and Masashi discuss about how saigyous, the meaning and the context it could be used.
A dictionary is a ship that navigates an ocean of words, huh?
Matsumoto compliments the two men and how they bounce off each others strength and weakness. It feels like a foreshadowing. Majime thinks that Masashi transferring over is unfortunate. Mashima however thinks, it isn’t just yet. And that he is proud to have worked with him on the dictionary. And that whatever Majime thinks, he isn’t alone. Masahsi pulls out some sheets of paper, with a mischievous look on his face.
Point of interests:
- Masashi likes shorter women than him – like Midori
- Masashi has worked for the dictionary dept for 5 yrs
- Wanderers or people who travel around Japan are called Saigyous
The episode focused purely on the growing or rather the out-going relationship between Majime and Masashi. Even though Masashi is going, the strong bond between the two men and their friendship is strong. And I really liked that.
That’s what the series has pointed too since the second episode. No matter what differences you have, with a common goal you can set them aside and see what makes you..well you. And how it gels with those that are opposite of you. To reassure Majime that he’ll be the only one working on the great passage full-time. He’s never alone.
The show also resolved a niggling issue that generally causes for some couples. Who are working for the same company. How do they deal with your colleagues seeing you dating someone. Well at first Masashi had issues with that, however by the end. He had no concerns and whatever happens, they’ll deal with it together.
It felt like this is the end of his arc.
Professor Oda is an arse. He got a buzz in seeing Masashi almost kneeling. But Masashi had more pride than that. Good for him.
Episode Grade: B+
Word of the episode: Trust – assured reliance on the character. Ability, strength or truth of someone.
