Spring / Summer first impression: Arslan Senki Fuujin Ranbu

YAAAAAAASHASUIIN!!!!!!!!!!! there I said it!. I’ve always wanted to say that!!. Well folks, the second season of Arslan senki is back. Albeit only 8 episodes (according to MAL). From the first episode (on epi 2), if I remember correctly it covers OVA 5 & 6. Which are more fantasy based. I say that because, remember those shadow men that were helping out Hermes (silver mask)?.

Well they get a bit more of a prominent role here. But I’m not to spoilt it for you as to why. They instruct silver mask to obtain a sword. This sword is called Rukhnabad. Wielded by the legendary hero of Pars. I would say more but that is going in to spoiler territory :P. Based on the OVAs, the series will be getting new set of characters introduced, and one in-particularly being Alfreed’ older brother (can’t remember the name though). The 2nd best archer in the world. By saying that I’ll let you guess who is the first. I’ll give you a hint; you’ve already seen this person in action. The other is quite interesting. And it involves Hermes / silver mask.

Trivia; Arslan is an old Turkish name. And it means something. The name is also a deviation for a certain character from a very famous set of books. In the first episode, there is a hint / foreshadowing.

For me, this anime is a:

  1. […] this pretty much covers the entire series. From the more lauded series that aired a while back to the more subdued one this year. Yes the second series had only 8 episodes. Does it cover everything?. Well to me it does, as it […]

Only eight episodes? That’s a shame. I should watch this anime to motivate myself to play the PS4 game I bought a while back.

    1. If you don’t mind historical, war based anime xDD. The actual story is pretty long.

  4. AAHHHHHHMYGODOHMYGODMOHMYGODOHMTOGOOFNSFGNFODJGSER. I can’t wait to start this season. Loved the epicness of season one, especially just everything with DARYUNNN involved. Sounds decent so far, although the episode count is certainly a little strange (is it due to limited source material or something?).

    1. I can only assume it is. If you hated Andragoras before, then you’ll hate him even more now.
